"By means of such bases it would be
possible to study, trace development of families throughout long time. For
example, in England there is a project which traces the same families,
thousands of families for 20-40 years, and it gives a huge ammount of information.
In Russia there are no such projects yet. But I think, similar resource bases
would be a source of obtaining new knowledge for many scientists", – Kovas
is quoted in the message.
Earlier it was reported that the main objective
of the program of the megagrants is to attract scientists with a world name in
the Russian higher education institutions, including the compatriots living
abroad.
Within the grant of the Government of the
Russian Federation under the direction of Kovas the laboratory of cognitive
researches and psychogenetics was created in TSU. In results of work of the
laboratory in several years the International Centre for Research in Human
Development appeared. On its base the Russian school twin register entering
into the international network of twin researches was created.
