11 – RIA Tomsk. Scientists of Tomsk State University of Control Systems and Radioelectronics (TUSUR) found a method of conversion of sapropel, in case of
which all useful properties of raw materials remain; use of the technology will
also facilitate transportation of the product, the press service of the higher
education institution reports on Tuesday.

It is
specified that sapropel (oozy deposits of the rotted-through remaining balance
of plants and animals at the bottom of lakes. - Editor) contains a large amount
of vitamins, acids, minerals and is used in medicine and agricultural industry.
Its inventories are big, however transportation of raw materials is too
expensive, and conversion on the available technologies does not allow to keep
all useful substances. It is impossible to create an artificial analog.
It is noted
that the firm basis of sapropel is the meal, received by drying, when heating
or with chemical impact loses a part of useful substances, which collapse or
evaporate together with moisture. TUSUR scientists suggested to work with
sapropel at low temperatures and to receive at the same time two products –
meal and liquid concentrate.
"Sapropel
is placed in the special cell with the rarefied air where boiling occurs
already at the temperature of 30 - 40 degrees. The evaporated moisture is
caught and concentrates. The technology allows to reduce amounts several times
and to cut down expenses on transportation. At the same time useful properties
remain almost completely", – it is said in the message.
It is added
that now the scientists together with the industrial partner study the project
of creation of the automated technological complex on production of sapropel
concentrate on the basis of TUSUR's innovative technology.
