© РИА Томск. Павел Стефанский TOMSK, Oct 25 – RIA Tomsk. Scientists of Tomsk Polytechnic University (TPU) together with the world expert on urbanistics from Italy plan
to investigate city space, create micromodel of Tomsk and offer authorities the
ideas on how to make city convenient for inhabitants, including people with
disabilities, reported on the website of the university.
It is specified that TPU scientists research infrastructures of Tomsk
within the project "Comfortable and available urban environment, with
taking into account interests of persons with disabilities", which is
headed by professor of Bocconi University Rudolfo Badzhio – the curator of the
program of micromodelling for sustainable development of the cities of Europe.
The expert arrived to Tomsk the day before.
"Scientists are faced the task to develop basic micromodel of Tomsk
which will allow to solve the main problems of the city: availability of the
urban environment, integration of new residential districts into city space,
renovation of depressive territories", – is said in the message.
It is added that within a week the polytechnicians together with the Italian
colleague will visit the new residential districts of Tomsk and will study the
downtown. Besides, the expert will get acquainted with results of the
researches which are earlier conducted by polytechnicians on this subject.
Experience of professor will allow to allocate the main problems of the urban
environment of Tomsk and to find optimal variants of their decision.
"Tomsk as the student's city has the features. Students have
special needs which often don't coincide with needs of other inhabitants. We
should analyse comprehensively the object and to allocate the existing
problems", – quoted in the message Badzhio.
According to the press service, results of a research will be presented
to the city authorities. "We will propose to the city effective solutions
in design, design of new residential districts on the basis of the conducted
researches", – heads of the department of social communications TPU
Natalia Lukyanova quoted in the message.
Earlier it was reported that in October, 2015 in TPU the "City
researches and applied urban studies" laboratory was open. On its base
scientists conduct researches which ultimate goal is – to understand how public
spaces of Tomsk look today and that what is possible to do to live in the city
as comfortable as possible.
