© с сайта ТПУ TOMSK, Nov 2 – RIA Tomsk. Scientists of the Tomsk Polytechnic University (TPU) developed frost-resistant gasolines and diesel fuel which are
capable to maintain temperatures up to minus 80 degrees, the press service of
the university reported on Wednesday.
It is specified that scientists work on creation of high-octane gasolines of
the class "Euro 5" and "Euro 6" and high-index diesel fuel
with the use of nanotechnologies. The received fuel conforms to requirements of
technical regulations of oil products of the corresponding class, and also has
the high low-stiffening properties.

"Usual commodity gasolines and diesel fuel maintain temperatures up to
minus 50 degrees. At lower temperatures such fuel can freeze in the fuel tanks
and systems. The offered high-octane gasolines and diesel fuel maintain very
low temperatures up to minus 80 degrees Celsius", – the professor of TPU
Vladimir Erofeyev quoted in the message.
It is noted that such types of fuel can be used in northern conditions of
Russia, including the Arctic and Antarctica.
On the project work scientists of the TPU international scientific and
educational laboratory "Processing of hydrocarbonic raw materials with the
use of nanotechnologies". The laboratory was created in 2007 on the basis
of department of geology and development of oil fields of Institute of natural
resources of TPU. Its foreign partners are Dresden University of Technology
(Germany) and the German company "Sud-Chemie".
