its branches and found the Old Believers' manuscript of the end of the 18th
century, which, is one of the earliest singing collections of Siberia, the press
service of the university reported on Wednesday.
It is specified that TSU scientists realize the "Tomsk archeographic
expedition" project. Within seven months they investigated museum funds.
In the Kolpashevsky museum archeographers found the Old Belief manuscript of
the end of the 18th century.
"It is the singing collection written not by usual notes which Old
Believers didn't recognize, but with "hooks": each hook could
designate one-three and more tones. A part of manuscripts is written on local, Siberian
paper. According to experts, it demonstrates that the collection – is one of
the earliest singing manuscripts in Siberia", – is said in the message.
Among other discoveries of the expedition there is the earliest edition of the
Moscow printing yard in the Tomsk region which disappeared in the Podgornensky
museum under the description "The church book".

"In the book there was no beginning, no end, no output data. After
studying of features of a font, paper and filigrees it was succeeded to establish
that it is the "Color triodion" published with the pupil and the
successor of the first printer Ivan Fedorov Andronicus Nevezhey in 1591. In the
Tomsk region there are no similar copies any more", – the project manager
Valeria Yesipova quoted.
The press service specifies that during the expedition scientists could reveal
all more than 150 manuscripts undescribed earlier and books of the Cyrillic
press of the 16-20th centuries, and also to specify names and dating of
rarities. Now archeographers prepare the complete list of finds for
registration in the state catalog of museum fund of the Russian Federation.
