TOMSK, Dec 6 – RIA Tomsk,
Evgenia Plankina. Tomsk State University (TSU) and Tomsk Polytechnic University
(TPU) took the third and fourth places respectively in the first Russian rating
of efficiency of innovative activities of universities, it is reported on the
website of Russian Venture Company (RVC).
It is specified that the rating was prepared by
experts of RVC and the Saint Petersburg National Research University of
Information Technologies, Mechanics and Optics (ITMO). Within monitoring
experts analysed activity of 40 federal universities of the National Research
Universities program and the 5-100 project.
"National Research Nuclear University
MEPhI, ITMO University, Tomsk State University, Tomsk Polytechnic University
and Ammosov North-Eastern Federal University were among leaders of innovative
activities", – it is said in the message.
It is noted that the efficiency evaluation of
the universities was carried out on three groups of indicators. The first
estimated the innovative and entrepreneurial environment of a university,
including the number of residents of business incubators. The second estimated
amount of the raised funds for research and development works, the number of
small enterprises, their investments and income. The third estimated influence
of a higher education institution on the external environment.
Universities showed the weakest results in the
block of a transfer of technologies. However, higher education institutions
play not the last role in social and economic life of a region.
It is added that the carried-out monitoring had
pilot character, further it is planned to enhance its technique, to conduct
negotiations with rating agencies concerning a possibility of development of
subratings of innovative activities of universities in their structure.
