TOMSK, Jan 27 – RIA Tomsk, Aleksandra Astafyeva. The undergraduate student of philological faculty of Tomsk State University (TSU) from India Khemka Anand Kumar became one of the winners of the online festival of friendship "Love of cinema, love of Russia", played a role of Professor Preobrazhensky in the episode based on the novel "Heart of a Dog", the press service of TSU reports on Friday.

It is specified that the festival is annually held by the Moscow State University (MSU) for students, graduate students, undergraduates and trainees learning Russian as foreign or nonnative. In 2016 the festival was devoted to Year of Russian Cinema, the works presented more than 200 foreigners who learn Russian in Russia, Greece, Kazakhstan, Belarus and Iran.

"At a selection stage of a competition foreigners were offered to write the composition on one of 10 subjects connected with the Russian cinema. Participants of the final stage were offered to act as directors or actors: to sing the well-known song from the movie, to picturize an episode from the Russian literature, to dramatize or interpret in a new way the known film episode", – is said in the message.

It is noted that in TSU decided to dramatize an episode from Mikhail Bulgakov's story "Heart of a Dog" where Professor Preobrazhensky says the well-known monologue about ruin, which is "not in closets, but in heads".

Deliberate choice

As the press service of the university reports, the undergraduate Khemka Anand Kumar played Professor Preobrazhensky and was among winners of an online festival. Also undergraduates of TSU from China – Du Jingzeng and Dong Yan participated in shootings. With the embodiment of the idea and direction teachers of philological faculty helped.

"Originality of our "Heart of a Dog" in the choice of an episode – is urgent presently, and also in the personality and charm of the main character: Anand very well got into the character, in my opinion. It seems to me, here our students show deep understanding of culture and history of Russia", – the senior teacher of department of Russian of philology faculty TSU Anna Hiznichenko is quoted in the message.

It is added that foreign students of Tomsk State University have already been winners of the online festival of friendship: "Earlier the jury of the competition has highly appreciated interpretations of "The Twelve Chairs", The Tale of the Fisherman and the Fish, and also an interview with Ded Moroz and Snegurochka from the Tomsk philologists".

According to the press service of the university, the philological faculty conducts training of foreign students for more than 20 years. "Agreements on educational and scientific cooperation are signed with universities of Germany, Austria, Italy, China, Kazakhstan, the Czech Republic, India, Taiwan, Poland and other countries", – the press service specifies.
