(TSU) will develop a technique which will allow to define how the light alloys
will behave in extreme conditions; the project got support in 1,2 million
rubles according to the program of grants of the Russian President, the press
service of the university reported on Tuesday.
It is noted that scientists develop a technique for forecasting of behavior of
various alloys on the basis of magnesium and titanium at dynamic loadings in
the wide range of temperatures. These alloys are easy and reliable thanks to
what are considered perspective for the equipment of the next generation. They
are already used in the car and aircraft industry, space branch, production of
cases of easy laptops.
"At design of the new equipment it is very important to have the authentic
forecast of behavior of alloys to avoid risk of destruction of the details made
of them, however now the universal experimental technique for this purpose is
absent", – the project manager Vladimir Skripnyak is quoted in the
message.

According to him, now researches of mechanical properties of separate brands of
light alloys are labor-consuming and resource-intensive. The universal
technique could accelerate and reduce the price of process of introduction of
perspective alloys on the basis of titanium and magnesium in production.
Within the project scientists of TSU within three years will create wide-range
model which will allow to describe mechanical behavior of light alloys with the
increased accuracy, considering the general regularities of deformation of this
class of materials. The research is supported by the Russian President's grant
in the amount of 1.2 million rubles.
