Valery Kolosov told to journalists on Tuesday.
"The head of the laboratory of Institute of Atmospheric Optics Valery
Perevalov and the deputy director of the same institute Boris Belan <…>

He specified that research team of Perevalov deals with a problem of
spectroscopy of the atmosphere. Researches allow scientists to understand what
part of solar and laser radiation passes through the atmosphere, and not only
on our planet. The scientific team of Belan helps the French colleagues to
study how emissions and gases of the industrial enterprises of Europe pass
through Siberia and get to Japan.
According to Kolosov, residents of Tomsk cooperate with colleagues from France
long ago, however for the first time it turns out so that two absolutely
different organizations nominated Tomsk scientists to an award in one year.
"The decree on rewarding is signed by the French Prime Minister. It is
very serious. Except that the award has a beautiful history, it is very
beautiful in design", – Kolosov added.
