Ilya Romanchenko who got the Presidential Prize in Science and Innovation for
Young Scientists in the Kremlin, said he was grateful to teachers of Tomsk
gymnasium №6 and teachers of Tomsk State University (TSU), the press service of
the president reported.
Earlier it
was reported that the president of Russia Vladimir Putin on Wednesday will hand
an award in a size of 2,5 million rubles to outstanding young scientists, among
which the resident of Tomsk Ilya Romanchenko. Prizes are awarded for results of
the scientific research making the significant contribution to development of
natural, technical sciences and the humanities, and also for development of new
equipment and advanced technologies.
"Ilya
Viktorovich Romanchenko’s work focuses on developing methods for generating
radio wave and microwave radiation. His work made it possible to design models
of ultra-powerful radio impulse generators that can be used, including at great
distance, to block the functioning of electronic devices and also be used in
areas such as protection against terrorist threats", - quotes the press
service Putin as saying.
In the
response word the resident of Tomsk said a "huge thanks" to
colleagues for participation and the help and separately – to the research
supervisor Vladislav Rostov.
"I
want to thank all my teachers, from the 6th gymnasium in Tomsk, teachers of an
evening Physics and Mathematics school at Tomsk State University, teachers of
the Distance Learning Physics and Technology School at MIPT. It was in high
school when I was instilled with cultural and scientific thought and learned to
love science. Also many thanks to professors of Tomsk State University"-
Romanchenko said.
