Innovation Startup tour – is the first stage of the Skolkovo Foundation program
for support of the beginning businessmen innovators began work on Monday at
Tomsk State University (TSU), tells RIA Tomsk from the opening ceremony.
Earlier it was reported that on February 13 and 14 in
Tomsk there will pass Open Innovation Startup tour. Participants of the Tomsk
stage will present 30 developments on industrial, biological and IT areas.
Winners of this tour are waited by two more stages – Startup Village and the
forum "Open Innovations" where they will present finished products to
investors.
"I am here for the sake of economy. Wherever that
may be, around the world, including Russia, new jobs, new trends are created
thanks to small business. Therefore if you will ask the question: "Who has
to create the future of Tomsk?" - you and nobody else", – told,
opening the event, the founder of the program Pekka Viljakainen.
He specified that 90 applications were submitted for
the Tomsk tour, but only 30 projects were allowed to participation. "If
you open any university, any junk room in Russia – there are a lot of patents,
but not all of them – are the good business ideas", – Viljakainen
explained.

The deputy governor of the Tomsk region on science and
innovations Mikhail Sonkin specified that not only residents of Tomsk, but also
young scientists from the Novosibirsk, Omsk, Kemerovo regions and Krasnoyarsk
Krai participate in the event.
"Young people, passing through Startup tour, have
an opportunity not only to realize their ideas, but also to show what impact it
can make on development of the region and all country", – he noted.
The rector of TSU Eduard Galazhinsky reported that for
the first time projects will be estimated not only by specialists of Skolkovo
Foundation, but also by experts of Bortnik Foundation, who will select projects
for participation in the program of support "Start". "Such
environment is the powerful driver, an accelerator of any business. And TSU
always aims at the formation of the entrepreneurial ecosystem", – he
added.
