Tomsk. Belgian scientists in the summer of 2017 will study
and collect bumblebees on the "Hanymey" base of the Tomsk State University (TSU) located in the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug, the director of
the TSU Center of Excellence BioClimLand Sergey Kirpotin reported to RIA Tomsk.
Earlier it was reported that the TSU research stations
(in the gorge Aktru in Altai, "Kaybasovo" in a flood plain of the Ob
River and "Hanymey" on the Yamal Peninsula) were included into
network of the international INTERACT project uniting scientific bases in 14
countries for studying of changes of the environment.
"One application received at the
"Hanymey" station, it settles down in the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous
Okrug where is permafrost. The group from Belgium will study bumblebees across
all Arctic. Before they worked in Canada, at Alaska, in the European countries,
and now, for the first time, they will collect and study bumblebees at this
station, their resistance to hyper temperature stresses", – Kirpotin told.

According to him, all on assessment of commission of
experts of the INTERACT program in 2017 received 108 applications from
scientists from the different countries of the world. Kirpotin noted that all
five groups of the scientists who submitted applications for a research at
stations of the Tomsk State University got approval.
"Two applications received at the
"Kaybasovo" station, there will arrive the German and British groups,
they will study swamps. <…> Two projects are declared on the
"Aktru" station. One of them is headed by the Italian scientist
Stephano Ventura, he is engaged in researching of cyanobacteria … One more
application for "Aktra" – from beekeepers from Sweden who will study
carbon balance of mountain soils", – he told.
According to Kirpotin, researches at TSU stations will
take place in July-August, 2017. Tomsk scientists plan to work with foreign
colleagues at the "Aktru" station in Altai.
