TOMSK, Feb 21 – RIA Tomsk, Karina Sapunova.
The governor of the Tomsk region Sergey Zhvachkin wrote the application
on the early termination of powers, now he is appointed the acting head
of the region, is reported on Tuesday on the Kremlin website.
"In
connection with the request of the governor of the Tomsk region
Zhvachkin Sergey Anatolyevich for an early resignation <…> I
hereby resolve: to accept resignation of the governor of the Tomsk
region Zhvachkin Sergey Anatolyevich at his own request; to appoint
Zhvachkin Sergey Anatolyevich the acting governor of the Tomsk region", –
is said in the text of the decree of the president.
Also it is
reported that on Tuesday the Russian President Vladimir Putin met with
Zhvachkin, at whom the term of governor's powers expires on March 17.
According to the transcript of the meeting, he intends to fight for the
chair of the head of the region on elections in September, 2017, "to fix
some positions which managed to be won" for acting as the governor.
"The
result, as I have already said, is good. Your team shows working
capacity, desire to work and ability. <…> I wish you success", –
Putin is quoted on the website.
Earlier federal mass media
reported that in a single voting day on September 10, 2017 there will
take place elections of heads of 15 regions of the Russian Federation.
In 10 of them in 2016 and the beginning of this year there were
resignations of heads, former heads remained in five subjects, including
in the Tomsk region. Sources of federal media declared earlier that
early resignation of Zhvachkin isn't expected. Zhvachkin declared the
desire to participate in elections.
