TOMSK, Feb 28 – RIA Tomsk. Tomskneft (subsidiary of PJSC
Rosneft and PJSC Gazprom Neft) in February for the first time accepted on
practice group of foreign students – undergraduates from Venezuela. About why
for practice was chosen the northern city Strezhevoy, what's new guests saw on
the Tomsk fields, and what warmed them in frosts - in the material of RIA

"All of them are adults – they are already over 30, have been working for
several years. It was familiarization practice. It included excursions and
theoretical courses which were developed specially for this program", –
she told.
In turn the representative of the Gubkin Russian State University of Oil and
Gas where Venezuelans study, specified RIA Tomsk that all of them are
undergraduates of the second year.
"The master program is for three years, the first year they learn Russian.
Two years – directly a magistracy in various directions. Programs are adapted
under target audience. Practicians undergraduates, as well as it is necessary,
pass at the concrete enterprises", – the interlocutor of the agency
reported.
Various oil – various approach
The representative of higher education institution noted that practice of
Venezuelans took place in Tomskneft within the joint program of the largest oil
companies of two countries: Rosneft and Petroleos de Venezuela, Sociedad
Anonima (PDVSA).
Foreigners stayed in Strezhevoy for two weeks.
"Students visited the training ground where there is a working off of
skills, fields Vakh and Soviet-Sosninskoye. They have been shown how the cycle
of production, preparation and transportation of oil works. How is the
processing at Strezhevskoy oil refinery is organized: how we recycle, what
fractions we receive, where we send", – Korchagina specified.
She noted that the students who arrived to practice – are of various
specialties: supervisors, drillers, engineers and others. Oil production for
Venezuela possessing the largest oil supplies in the world, is the important
branch of economy and guests are mainly interested in the technology for oil
production intensification and development of difficult reserves.

At the same time, according to her, some technologies for foreign students were
earlier unknown. For example, in Venezuela don't apply technology of hydraulic
fracturing of formation (a method of creation of a crack in oil layer which
allows to increase oil production).
Besides, unusual for foreigners was also a technology of use of reagents. If in
Venezuela they are used to lift heavy high-viscosity oil to a surface, then in
Russia where oil less viscous, reagents used already at a raw materials
transportation stage.
Undergraduates also note that some technologies and the ideas for them is a new
experience and, perhaps, would be useful in their work in Venezuela.
For example, Franklin Colina Marcano become interested in technology of
hydraulic fracturing.
"As far as I understand, you receive good result with its help. That's
wonderful. Can we apply it? Perhaps, and at us in some look its application
would be expedient", – he assumed.
As Simon Marin Mejia told, he estimated that the most part of work for
employees of Tomskneft is carried out by machines.
"Here almost all processes are automated. We have automated only some. I
think that you have a lot of experience in this area. <…> About fields I
can tell that you have very good technology. Your system of oil production,
preparation of oil, oil refining is very similar to ours. But you have many
technologies which we don't have, and, of course, it very much interests
me", – he noted.
Marín Mejia also noted that technologies of carrying out the analysis of
samples in "oil" laboratories differ: the Russian experts use
chloroform, and Venezuelan - not.
Warm Siberia
However during practice in Strezhevoy students not only studied the methods of
operation of wells and visited laboratories. They also communicated with young
specialists of Tomskneft, got acquainted with the history of the city and the
enterprise.
"The first thing that surprised - your weather. For us it is very unusual
- such frost" - shared Colina Marcano.
Besides, he was very much surprised with Strezhevoy and the fact that all city
exists actually around one enterprise – Tomskneft.
And Marin Mejia added that, despite the cold weather, that caught Venezuelans
in the north, it was very warm in Strezhevoy.
"At you there is a lot of interesting, but the most important – your
fields and your people. I can tell about your people, that they are very good,
very friendly. And here, despite the weather, I feel as in Venezuela", –
he explained.
