Tomsk. Specialists of Tomsk JSC Polus Scientific and
Production Center (JSC Polus SPC) work on the equipment for 13 new satellites
of GLONASS system, and in the future, perhaps, will receive the order for 12
more devices, the chief designer of the enterprise Ivan Balyus told journalists
on Wednesday.
He explained that now in orbit there are 27 satellites
of GLONASS system. Experts of Polus SPC will be engaged in creation of
equipment for new satellites.
"Now we are working on creating of modifications
for GLONASS devices. We received requests for manufacturing. <…>
Contracts for 13 devices are concluded", - told Balyus at a press
conference in media center of RIA Tomsk, having added that in the future it is
possible to obtain an order for 12 sets of devices.

The engineer specified that the equipment for flight
tests needs to be provided until the end of 2018. The Tomsk experts shall
deliver in one of leading enterprises of space branch of the Russian Federation
– "JSC Academician M.F. Reshetnev Information Satellite Systems" –
elements of several types.
According to him, it is about electroflywheel
actuators which allow to adjust orientation of the device in space, equipment
for voltage stabilization, control and coordination of operation of solar
batteries and the accumulator drive, and also about system of correction of
laser propulsion systems which will allow to lift satellites into the necessary
orbit.
Balyus added that there are also "smaller
directions" – development of electric drives and secondary power supplies.
