Tomsk. The nanosatellite of Tomsk Polytechnic University
(TPU) finding on the International Space Station (ISS) is planned to be
launched into outer space in August, 2017, the deputy director of TPU Institute
of High Technology Physics Evgeny Kolubayev told journalists on Wednesday.
Earlier it was reported that in the spring of 2016 TPU
nanosatellite manufactured for the 120th anniversary of the university, was delivered
to the ISS. It was supposed that astronauts will put it into Earth orbit in
2017.
"In August, (2017) will launch the
satellite", – specified Kolubayev at a press conference in media center of
RIA Tomsk.

According to the university, astronauts to launch the
satellite during a planned spacewalk. After it is appear in orbit, the
satellite will transmit a signal which radio amateurs will be able to catch
anywhere in the world.
Kolubayev noted that in TPU are already prepared
special memorable cards which will receive those who could catch the satellite
signal.
Also it was reported that the casing of the satellite
is executed from the unique materials developed for space. After start into an
orbit sensors of the satellite will fix temperature onboard, on boards and
batteries, parameters of electronic components. After test of new materials in
actual practice it will become clear whether they will be applied during
creation of spacecrafts in the future.
