TOMSK, May 15 – RIA Tomsk. The scientists of Tomsk State University (TSU)
together with EleSy company are developing the first software complex in Russia
capable to replace some Windows software solutions using it in high-tech
production; the first version of the complex is already undergoing preliminary
tests, the press service of the university reports on Monday.
It is specified that the total amount of financing of this strategically
important for the Russian Federation project is more than 300 million rubles,
half of them – is state subsidies, the remaining money - is the means of the
initiator of the project EleSy, which is an industrial partner of TSU.
Currently, developers are conducting preliminary testing of the first domestic
complex and its debugging.
"Since OS Windows is still used at many facilities of the fuel and
energy complex, the balanced decision may be not a complete renunciation of
Windows, but the development of such software solutions, which can be
reconfigured with a minimum labor costs for an Windows alternative operating
environment", – the director of the Center of Computer Science and
Technologies Alexander Zamyatin is quoted.

It is marked that the Tomsk software complex is running under Unix-like
operating systems. It allows to collect, process and store technological data,
to plan, distribute and monitor the production process online. The development
does not depend on foreign analogues, the enterprises of the nuclear, oil and
gas, power, chemical industries have shown interest in it.
"The completion of the key stages on creation of almost fully
functional version of the software complex ready for demonstration to potential
customers is scheduled for the end of 2017 – early 2018. This will allow,
together with TSU partners, to move to the release of the "boxed"
version, ready for use by third-party integrators", – the EleSy director
of innovative development Maxim Kostarev is quoted.
