TOMSK, Jun 22 – RIA Tomsk. The undergraduate of Tomsk State University (TSU) conducted an experimental study and found out that frequent use of a cell phone leads to change in the structure of cells; especially dangerous a mobile for women and representatives of the Mongoloid race, the press service of the university reported on Wednesday.

With reference to the author of the study, the undergraduate of the Biological Institute of TSU Marina Kostromeeva, it's reported that on the subject of the influence of mobile phones on the human body scientists have argued for a long time, and a few years ago the World Health Organization (WHO) referred "mobile phones" to the group 2B, where the substances, capable to cause cancer, are included. Kostromeeva conducted her own research.

"The experiment conducted on the basis of the Siberian State Medical University (SSMU) showed that long-term exposure of electromagnetic waves leads to change in the structure of buccal epithelium cells (the inner side of the cheek). Among the revealed pathologies – are the destruction of cell nucleus, violation of chromosome divergence in cell division and a number of other abnormalities", – the report says.

It is noted that the experiment involved 100 volunteers – first-year students of the medical university. At the beginning of the project and a month after its launch, the scrape was taken from the inner surface of the "leading" cheek often used during the conversation and from the opposite, "control" one. The results of the study showed an increase in the frequency of pathologies in the nuclear structure of the cells of the "leading" cheek.

The experiment also showed that nuclear pathologies are more common at women – an additional chromosome X is "guilty", which has a greater propensity to lose and form micronuclei. Besides gender, ethnicity is important – representatives of the Mongoloid race are more sensitive to electromagnetic radiation than Caucasians.

Based on the experimental data, the list of recommendations for mobile users was developed.
