© РИА Томск. Павел Стефанский TOMSK, Jul 12 – RIA Tomsk. Two Tomsk universities – classical (TSU) and polytechnical (TPU) –
are included in top-20 of universities of first national rating of Russia; 12
Moscow universities entered the twenty, three universities from St. Petersburg,
one from Novosibirsk, one from Kazan, one from Yekaterinburg, press service of
administration of the Tomsk region reported.
The first national rating of
universities of the Russian Federation "Three missions of
universities" is founded by the Russian Union of Rectors (RUR) and the
Russian Academy of Sciences. Results of the rating were reported by the head of
RUR, the rector of Moscow State University (MSU) Viktor Sadovnichiy at the
meeting of public council of the Modernization of education project of United
Russia party.
"Kazan Federal
University, Novosibirsk State University, Ural Federal University named after
the first President of Russia B. N. Yeltsin (UrFU), and also Tomsk State
University and Tomsk Polytechnic University entered top-20", – it is said
in the message.

It is specified that the
universities are estimated on 35 indicators in the rating reflecting three main
missions of university in the modern world: "education",
"science", "university and society". Unlike three most
authoritative global ratings (THE, QS, ARWU), the largest weight – about 40% –
are occupied by an assessment of an educational mission of a university in the
Russian rating.
As TASS reports, the
international version of the rating with the indication of concrete places
prepared with the assistance of 30 foreign experts will appear in open access
in October.
