TOMSK, Jul 28 –
RIA Tomsk. Residents and guests of Tomsk can learn the history of
the Tatar settlement and ride a bicycle along the "Emerald Tomsk" together with new audio guides created by the Tourist Information Center (TIC),
the press service of the mayor's office reported on Friday.
Earlier it was reported that the TIC was opened in
Tomsk in 2015. Its main task - to promote the new tourist brand of Tomsk. It is
connected with the legend that it was Tomsk that became the prototype of the
famous Emerald City in the works of Alexander Volkov.
"The Tourist Information Center launched new
audio guides across Tomsk ... Now Tomsk citizens and guests of the city can
independently get acquainted with the history of the Zaistochye area (Tatar
settlement) and make a tour on the Emerald City by bicycle", – is said in
the message.

It is specified that the TIC created new routes on the
international platform IZI-travel, which specializes in free multimedia
audiotours across cities and museums around the world. To listen to the
information it is necessary to download the free IZI-travel application to your
mobile device and enter the names of the excursions in the search field:
"Cycle travel across Emerald Tomsk", "Walk through the Tatar
settlement".
It is added that now new excursions are presented in
Russian, but later it is planned to introduce the English version. Earlier TIC
posted three audio-excursion pedestrian routes on the site: about wooden
architecture, unusual monuments, as well as a sightseeing tour around the city.
On the website it is noted that in the journey through
the "Emerald Tomsk" it is possible to find the "heart of the
city" (Foundation stone), come to the Museum of Wooden Architecture
"for inspiration", to "House with Dragons" - "for
magic" and visit the building of the Pedagogical University, where in his
youth lived the author of "The Wizard of the Emerald City" –
"for knowledge".
"For whatever purpose you would come to our
beautiful city – "for the heart", "for reason", "for
inspiration", Tomsk, as a real magician, will be ready to fulfill any of
your wishes!" - is said in the description. On the website it is added
that another audio tour - across the Tatar settlement – will acquaint Tomsk
citizens and city visitors with the history of monuments of wooden architecture.
