TOMSK, Aug 8 – RIA Tomsk. Student of Tomsk Polytechnic University (TPU) Ivan Kremlev develops software for design of electrical machines and mechatronic modules, which, in particular, will allow to select optimum material for a product and also will be more convenient and cheaper than import analogs, the press service of the university reports on Tuesday.

It is noted that the idea to create the software came from Kremlev and his research supervisor Sergey Leonov after studying of foreign analogs. It became clear that there is a number of technical difficulties at their application, and cost of import software is high for small innovative enterprises and design institutes.

"Our software is intended for simulation of three-dimensional stationary magnetic fields and synthesis of highly effective magnetic systems. In simple terms, an engineer will be able to calculate with its help how it is most practical and favorable to create the electrical machine or the mechatronic module", – Kremlev is quoted in the message.

It is explained that electrical machine is an electromechanical converter of energy. Mechanical energy will be transformed to electricity or on the contrary with its help. It is supposed that an engineer will import a 3D model of an electric motor to the program developed by polytechnics.

"Then the program will simulate the electromagnetic field which will arise in this product when using a material, and will show that if certain details of this engine consist, say, of iron, this field will be one and if of aluminum, it will be another, and if of copper – the third. The program will show what material gives to the electrical machine bigger productivity and why", – it is said in the statement.

It is specified that the Tomsk software will allow not to overpay for an expensive one, but inefficient material and will increase quality of operation of the machine and will become more convenient and cheap alternative to import analogs. Kremlev's development was included into the list of the best at the competition "Umnik" of Foundation for Assistance to Small Innovative Enterprises in Science and Technology.
