TOMSK, Aug 10 – RIA Tomsk. About 200 masters, including 62 people from 22 countries of near and far
abroad, were registered for participation in the Tomsk festival "Ax
Day", one of organizers of the festival Denis Lykhin told journalists at
the press conference in the RIA Tomsk media center on Thursday.
Earlier it was reported that "Ax Day" takes place in expanded
format in 2017. In particular, competitions of potters and smiths are planned
within the festival, the competition in chainsaw carving is marked out in the
separate nomination. Camping will be organized for guests near Okolica park in
the village Zorkaltsevo of the Tomsk district, where the festival traditionally
takes place. The festival-competition will take place from August 15 to August
20.
"This year 199 masters take part (in "Ax Day"), there are 22
foreign countries, 24 russian regions. Interesting fact: 25 women take part
this year, there were 15 women in the 2016th, 3 women in 2015. And I consider
that it is great", – Lykhin told.

He specified that masters from 62 countries of near and far abroad were registered
for participation in the festival. Including from Belarus, Serbia, Poland,
Dominican Republic, Mongolia, Germany, Denmark, Tajikistan, France, Brazil,
Chile, Argentina, Kazakhstan, the Czech Republic, China, Uzbekistan, Spain,
Slovenia, Ukraine, Estonia and Finland.
Earlier it was reported that more than 100 carpenters from 10 regions of
Russia and also 13 masters from Kazakhstan, Germany, China, France, Finland,
Belarus, Uzbekistan and Tajikistan were registered for participation in
"Ax Day" in 2016.
