TOMSK, Aug 17 – RIA Tomsk. Launch of nanosatellite of Tomsk Polytechnic University (TPU) into the orbit of the Earth – first Russian spacecraft created with use of 3D-technologies – took place on Thursday, the correspondent of RIA Tomsk reports from student's Mission Control Center (MCC) of TPU where communication session with International Space Station (ISS) took place.

Earlier it was reported that in the spring of 2016 the Tomsk-TPU-120 nanosatellite – the first spacecraft printed with the 3D-printer was delivered to the ISS. The satellite was manufactured to the 120 anniversary of Tomsk Polytechnic University. The launch of the nanosatellite into the orbit was planned for August 17. The satellite will transfer the message from the orbit which radio fans will be able to catch worldwide.

The correspondent of RIA Tomsk reports that launch of the nanosatellite took place on Thursday, August 17, at 22:10 of Tomsk time (18:10 of Moscow time) during extravehicular activity of astronauts Sergey Ryazansky and Fedor Yurchikhin. Yurchikhin orbited vehicle, Ryazansky helped him and carried out insurance.

Before launch of the polytechnics contacted the rector of TPU Petr Chubik by Skype, the director of the TPU Institute of High Technology Physics Alexey Yakovlev, the chairman of Presidium of the Tomsk Scientific Center, professor of TPU Sergey Psakhye who are in the Russian TsUP in the city Korolev on Thursday.

"Competitive spirit", – the rector of TPU noted.

Psakhye emphasized that it is "one of the first cases when student's TsUP works with a big TsUP. This is a milestone event for Tomsk".

Earlier it was reported that first-ever 3D-nanosatellite will be in the orbit from four to six months after launch in outer space, transferring to Earth voice messages – the messages to people of the Earth which were recorded by students of TPU in 11 languages of the world.

Also it was reported that the casing of the satellite is made of the unique materials developed for space. Sensors of the satellite will fix temperature onboard, on circuit boards and batteries, parameters of electronic components after the launch into the orbit. It will become clear after test of new materials in real conditions whether they will be applied during creation of spacecrafts in the future.
