TOMSK, Aug 17 – RIA Tomsk. The regional commission estimated
readiness of dormitories of Tomsk State University for new academic year. How
TSU dormitories look after repair – in material of RIA Tomsk.
Earlier it was reported that there
are 39 dormitories of eight universities in Tomsk in which 20 thousand students
and graduate students live. The special commission of authorities and various
departments began to check their readiness for the beginning of academic year.

Commission checks TSU dormitories
The TSU press service reported to
RIA Tomsk that the commission visited all six dormitories of the university.
Inspectors especially noted dynamics of emergence of new spaces in them. For
example, new points of food were opened in dormitories № 3 and № 5, rooms for
work of student councils – in № 7 and № 8.

Study room
The self-service laundry which is
planned to be opened here will become an innovation for inhabitants of the
dormitory № 6. Such laundries are in № 7 and Parus.

Members of the commission noted that
Parus "looks as new" after several years of operation.
"It means that there is culture
among the residents that the administration watches the condition of the
dormitory", – the press service quotes the head of the department of
science and the higher education of the administration of the Tomsk region
Nikolay Minayev.

Toilet room
Staff of the university noted that
this year student's construction crews were traditionally involved in repair.
They worked in all dormitories – putty, painted, changed linoleum and
electrical wiring, installed lamps and switches.
"It changes the relation of
students to the residence greatly; they repair not only rooms, but also public
places: corridors, ladders. And the more not indifferent people will be in
dormitories, the order will be better to be kept", – the press service
quotes the Vice-Rector for Social Services of TSU Sergey Kulizhsky.
According to the press service,
there are 338 rooms for first-year students in the dormitories of the
university.
New furniture, soft stock were
purchased for the dormitories. New exercise machines and stock appeared in
sports rooms of the dormitories № 3, 5 and 6.

As the press service noted, all TSU
dormitories had testing procedures for compliance to requirements of
anti-criminal and anti-terrorist security and are ready to accept students.
