TOMSK, Aug 28 – RIA Tomsk. The French
company Decathlon postponed opening of hypermarket of sporting goods in Tomsk
to the end of November; the store will be located on the area of 2.5 thousand
square meters near the shopping center "Izumrudniy Gorod"
("Emerald City"), the representative of "Decathlon Russia"
reported RIA Tomsk.
Earlier it was
reported that the French company Decathlon plans to open a hypermarket of
sporting goods in Tomsk in the first half of 2017 with an area of at least two
thousand square meters. Representatives of the company did not consider the
option of construction of hypermarket from scratch, and planned to rent
existing or under construction premises.
"Tentatively,
the opening of the (hypermarket) – is the end of November. We decided on the
premises, now we are closing the tender and proceeding to the finishing works.
It will be a 2,5 thousand square meters rental store in a shopping complex near
the shopping center "Izumrudniy Gorod" ("Emerald City"),
the interlocutor of the agency told.
He also added
that the selected area will allow to present in Tomsk the whole range of goods
produced by Decathlon.
Decathlon – is a
French company on developing, producing and selling of sports goods, clothing
and footwear, founded in 1976. Today the network has 1,025 stores in 26
countries (more than 40 stores of them are in Russia). According to open
sources, the company owns the Mulliez family, which also controls the Auchan
network.
