TOMSK, Oct 17 – RIA Tomsk. One of the Tomsk agroenterprises can become a pilot platform on transition to automated dairy production; Dutch robot milkmaid will be installed on a farm, which not only milk cows, but also save them from main stress – communication with a person, the head of regional department of village social and economic development Irina Cherdantseva told.

Earlier it was reported that Tomsk was visited by delegation from the Netherlands at the beginning of October where representatives of the Dutch business, including the Lely Company – international developer of innovative solutions for agriculture participated. According to Cherdantseva, Lely became the first-ever firm, which made the milking robot. As it is reported on the website of the company, "farmers recognize it as the most important invention of the 20th century for dairy farmings".

"The Tomsk region is ready to move to a new level of robotic equipment. There is a confidence that robots milkmaids will appear in the Tomsk region soon. Such offer is being prepared for one of the Tomsk commercial organizations. The robot is a box into which the cow comes on a bait. The robot defines whether this cow should give milk or still not. If term approached, it sticks and milks", – Cherdantseva told at the press conference in RIA Tomsk.

She added that the robot controls quality of milk at each milking. If any indicators of milk are lower than norm, it automatically separates such milk from the general party. "The mechanical milkmaid" can also find mastitis at early stage at cows, allows to organize milking in the round-the-clock mode, minimizes number of contacts of an animal with human.

"The most important moment is that communication of cows with a person is a stress for cows. Cows are happy in Holland on Saturday and Sunday when there is no farmer, everything is in an automatic mode, and the system is controlled from a cell phone", – Cherdantseva commented.

According to her information, one robot milkmaid can serve 70 cows. Such devices are successfully used in Belarus where already about 50% of farms are robotized.

"It is offered 12 million rubles (for a robot) together with service. There is a grant support in the Tomsk region: if the grant was 3 million for the dairy direction before, then it is 20 million now. We wait for farmers who are ready to experiment. The company buys the robot by itself. There will be a clarity by the end of the year (on the pilot project)", – Cherdantseva added.
