TOMSK, Oct 17 – RIA Tomsk. Tomsk State University (TSU), Tomsk Polytechnic University (TPU), Tomsk State University of Control Systems and Radioelectronics (TUSUR), Tomsk State Pedagogical University (TSPU) are in
top-300 of QS for developing countries of EECA; TSU and TPU improved indicators
(got 11 and 40 places respectively), it is reported on the official site of
rating.
Earlier it was reported that TSU was
the fifth among universities of the Russian Federation and the 20th in the
general rating in the rating QS for EECA countries in 2016. TPU was the 11th
across the Russian Federation and the 45th among EECA countries. TUSUR was
included into group 111-120 in the general rating.
According to data on the rating
website, top-300 is headed by Moscow State University (MSU), Novosibirsk State
University (NSU) is on the second place, University of Tartu is on the third in
2017. 97 Russian universities participated in the rating in total.

For the first time TSPU got in
top-300 in 2017, having taken the 132nd place in the general rating and the
32nd place among the Russian universities. TUSUR has the 144th and 37th places
respectively. Tomsk National Research Universities are traditionally in the
leaders of the rating. TPU rose by five points in comparison with last year and
is on the 40th position in the general rating, at the same time having kept the
11th line among the Russian universities. TSU rose in turn by 9 points – to the
11th place – in the general rating and moved from the 5th to the 4th place
among universities of the Russian Federation.
The rector of TSU Eduard
Galazhinsky, commenting results of the rating RIA Tomsk, told that it is result
of the development strategy chosen by the university, at the head of which are
maintaining traditions, introduction of new projects changes and work with
reputation of the university. According to him, it attracts a large number of
foreign students in TSU and makes university attractive to the Russian and
foreign companies.
"It is result of huge work
which the staff of the university carried out almost on all fronts –
scientific, educational, communication, and I think that our efforts are
appreciated by the international community in this rating. It is remarkable
result on which I want to congratulate all staff of the university and students.
Our reputation at employers has considerably grown up", – Galazhinsky
told.

Earlier it was reported that
assessment of universities in the rating is carried out by nine criteria:
academic reputation (30% of the general assessment), responses of employers (20%),
ratio of number of teachers and students (15%), publication activity of
employees (10%), Internet activity (10%), number of employees with scientific
degree (5%), quoting of publications (5%) and share of foreign students and
teachers (on 2,5%).
