TOMSK, Oct 16 – RIA Tomsk. The Tomsk region became the third
among regions of Russia in the rating of quality of state funded enrollment of
students, TASS news agency reports on Monday with reference to the materials
prepared for the press conference "Quality of enrollment of students in
2017".
"Moscow and the Moscow region
with the average USE score of enlisted students of 77 points were at the first
place in top-10 regions on quality of state funded enrollment of students. St.
Petersburg with 76 points and the Tomsk region with 74 points follow
them", – news agency reports.
As the deputy government of the
Government of the Russian Federation Olga Golodets reported at the press
conference which video is posted on the website IIA Rossiya Segodnya, there are
4,4 million students in Russia in total, 920 thousand first-year students
entered on programs of bachelor and master degrees in 2017. The number of the
Russian universities, where the average score for state funded places exceeded
70, has grown to 152. The rating was carried out among 400 Russian
universities; there are 820 universities in total.

"The quality of enrollment grew
almost on all specialties … Also growth on quality of enrollment of students
for the state funded places in a number of regional universities is
noted", – Golodets noted without having specified what regional
universities achieved growth of the average score necessary for admission.
As the rector of Higher School of
Economics Yaroslav Kuzminov reported at the press conference, 24 universities
of Moscow, 21 of St. Petersburg, three universities from Kazan and Nizhny
Novgorod, two from Tomsk and two from Novosibirsk, "one university from
number of regions from Tula to Penza" are in leaders in the separate
directions of education (where high average USE score – Ed.).
Earlier it was reported that the Tomsk
universities could accept 9643 entrants (300 people more, than the previous
year) for the state funded places: 5866 people for programs of bachelor degree
and specialist programme and 3777 for programs of master degree in 2017-2018
academic year.
Also it was reported that the Tomsk
universities enlisted 5494 persons for the state funded places in 2017. 1572
students entered Tomsk State University, 1316 people entered Tomsk Polytechnic University. 783 persons became students of Siberian State Medical University,
742 come to Tomsk State University of Control Systems and Radioelectronics, 688
to Tomsk State University of Architecture and Building and 393 to Tomsk State
Pedagogical University.
