TOMSK, Oct 19 – RIA Tomsk. Siberian State Medical University
(SSMU) obtained a license of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Russia for
production of medicines, the rector of the university Olga Kobyakova reported
in Facebook.
"We became the first and still
only medical university in Russia with such license. According to my sources,
only TPU (Tomsk Polytechnic University) and RUDN (Peoples' Friendship
University of Russia) are owners of the similar document among the universities
in Russia. It is a grandiose break for our region, the university", –
Kobyakova reported on the page in a social network.

As it is specified in the license of
the Ministry of Industry and Trade, production, storage and realization of
pharmaceutical substances received by allocation methods from sources of plant
origin and also sterile medicines from medicinal vegetable raw materials –
solutions for injections is authorized to the university.
"Existence of such license is
extremely important for pharmaceutical productions with which the university
actively builds cooperation. It transfers our interaction into qualitatively
other level! Today only pharmaceutical manufacturers having the license can
release samples of drugs for clinical trials", – the rector of SSMU
commented.
According to Kobyakova, requests
from producers, research centers and laboratories of Tomsk, Novosibirsk and
other cities of Russia on production of prototypes of drugs for clinical trials
already began to come to the Technology Implementation Center of SSMU.
