"Foil bearing" of TSUAB scientist won Science Slam in Germany

TOMSK, Oct 20 – RIA Tomsk. The employee of Tomsk State University of Architecture and Building (TSUAB) Nikita Meshcheulov won Science Slam in Germany with the project "Safety Cushion for House", which had already won in Tomsk, the press service of the regional administration reports.

Earlier it was reported that Meshcheulov with the "Safety Cushion for House" project won a contest of young scientists Science Slam, which was held in May 2017 at the forum of young scientists U-NOVUS in Tomsk. To improve the safety of buildings at blows and explosions, he proposed to use flexible bearing. This will help to increase the load-carrying capacity of reinforced concrete structures up to 20 times and prevent the destruction of buildings.

It is specified that on October 19, Bonn hosted the annual German-Russian Science Slam.

"On the seventh Deutsch-Russischer Science Slam six best slamers from Russia and Germany battled. Nikita Meshcheulov – the director of the Center for "Computer Modeling of Building Structures and Systems" TSUAB became the winner", – is said in the statement.

According to the regional administration, for his scientific work Meshcheulov has already received eight patents.

"The theme of the dissertation of the young scientist "Studies of beam-column structures on flexible bearing at intensive dynamic load" refers to the direction which is extremely promising and poorly understood today: except the TSUAB group in this direction in Russia work only NRU MGSU", – the scientific adviser of the young scientist Oleg Kumpyak is quoted.
