TOMSK, Nov 17 – RIA Tomsk. Two creative festivals of national
culture took place in Tomsk Polytechnic University (TPU) on the eve of the
International Students' Day; the Lebanese dances were presented for the first
time, also organizers were impressed by Moscow Nights song in Mongolian, the
press service of the university reports on Friday.
It is specified that the
International Students' Day is celebrated annually on November 17. It was
founded in 1942 at the international meeting of students of the countries
fighting against fascism which took place in London.
On the eve of the holiday two
national festivals at once took place in TPU – "Dances of Peoples of the
World" and "Gold Voice of Peoples of the World". Students from
Tomsk and Yurga took part in them.

"Festivals became a part of the
big project "Days of National Cultures in TPU". This year students
from the Yurga Institute of Technology of TPU joined us for the first time,
they represented the Kyrgyz national dances. And, of course, we were glad to
see among participants ensemble of the Lebanese dance for the first time",
– the organizer of the project Maria Vorotilo is quoted.

It is noted that the "Dances of
Peoples of the World" festival united 16 dancing collectives. Participants
presented creativity of the Gipsy people, the Russian Germans in Russia, dances
of Tatarstan, Dagestan, Yakutia, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Mongolia, Uzbekistan,
India.

It is reported that 23 students from
TPU, Tomsk State University (TSU) participated in the vocal festival
competition, Tomsk State University of Architecture and Building (TSUAB) and
Medical University (SSMU). These are activists of national and cultural
autonomies and associations of foreign students. Songs in 10 languages were
presented on the stage : Russian, Ukrainian, Belarusian, English, Buryat,
Mongolian, Kazakh, Yakut, Spanish, German.

"There were many bright
performances. The student from Mongolia Batdorzh Ikhbayar sang the popular song
"Moscow Nights" in Russian, it turned out to be very beautiful.

Ruiz performed. There were also interesting duets: Enkhzaya Orkhontsetseg from
Mongolia and the student from Africa Jeremy sang in English", – the
organizer says.

It is added that winners of the
festivals will be awarded at the gala concert of the "Days of National
Cultures in TPU" project on December 13.

There are more than 3,5 thousand
foreign students from 37 countries of the world in TPU in total.
