TOMSK, Jan 18 – RIA Tomsk. The Tomsk region and the American
transnational company Cisco agreed to jointly develop technologies for the
"Smart City" program; the region will also continue cooperation with
the Netherlands in the sphere of high technologies and the agrarian-industrial
complex (AIC), the press service of the regional administration said on
Thursday.
According to the press service, the governor of the Tomsk region Sergey
Zhvachkin within the framework of the Gaidar forum, which is held in Moscow on
January 16-18, met with top managers of Cisco and discussed the prospects of
cooperation.
"Having discussed the prospects of technological cooperation on the
"Smart City" direction, the participants of the meeting agreed on
joint high-tech projects for industrial production, in particular, the oil and
gas sector", – is noted in the release.
Also, the head of the region, within the framework of the working meeting,
discussed with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom
of the Netherlands to the Russian Federation the results of the first joint
projects under the "Smart City" program, in the field of telemedicine
and agrarian-industrial complex. The parties agreed to continue their joint
work and involve the regional Cluster Development Center and business
incubators.
"Our agrarians do not just purchase pedigree cattle in Holland, but they
get access to modern technologies in the agrarian-industrial complex.
<...> Tomsk innovative companies do not just establish relations with new
partners, but enter new markets, expand the list of products, and improve its
quality. And we are only at the beginning of the way, which we agreed to
continue", – the regional administration quotes Zhvachkin.
