employee member of research staff at Tomsk Polytechnic University (TPU) in 2018
should grow up to 1.65 million rubles, the rector of the university Petr Chubik
said during theTPU Assembly on Thursday.
"In 2017, the volume of
research and development per employee (research and teaching staff) amounted to
1.299 million rubles ... The task for 2018 – is to increase the amount of research
and development per staff member of the research staff up to 1.6 million
rubles", – said Chubik .

As it is reported in the materials of the Assembly, the volume of research
and development for the state budget in 2017 amounted to 1.02 billion rubles
(in 2016 – 995.63 million), and for the off-budget – 850.06 million rubles (in
2016 – 1.17 billion ). The university has fulfilled 44 foreign contracts and
grants, the largest customers are Schlumberger Technology Corporation (France),
SwissGeoPower AG (Switzerland), Smiths Heimann GmbH (Germany), PowerScan
Company Limited (China), JME Ltd. (United Kingdom).
It is also reported that in 2017 TPU grew not only in application
development indicators, but also in the number of articles indexed by the
authoritative databases of scientific publications Scopus and Web of Science.
"The number of publications in the Web of Science database per staff
member of the academic staff increased from 2.8 to 4.6, the number of
publications in the Scopus database ... – from 4.0 to 5.4, the average citation
index ... calculated by the aggregate of publications, accounted in the
database of the Web of Science, increased from 4.0 to 8.0, in the base of
Scopus – from 5.9 to 11.3", – noted in the materials of the Assembly.
In addition, in 2017, TPU expanded its participation in the work of the
collaborations of the European Organization for Nuclear Research (CERN). At the
university works RASA (Russian-speaking Academic Science Association) center
with five research laboratories; there are two scientific schools having the
status of the leading scientific schools in Russia.
