train engineers of a new type for the Central Research Institute of Machine
Building (TsNIIMash), which will be able to generate space trends, is said on
the website of the university.
According to the resource, TsNIIMash - is the head institute of Roskosmos. It
has the largest experimental base of rocket and space equipment. One of the
leading units of the Institute – Mission Control Center (MCC) – provides
command and software for the flight of the Russian segment of the International
Space Station, as well as the Soyuz and Progress spacecrafts.
"There are a lot of applied problems in space that need to be solved.
There are a lot of them, since 10 years ago we did not have scientific and
technical bases laid. <...> It is important, when solving today's
problems, to think about tomorrow and the day after tomorrow, in particular, to
fulfill the system of generation of new ideas and their support. Tomsk can
become a pilot site for this", – the director of Central Research
Institute of Machine Building Victor Hartov is quoted in the message.

In turn, the rector of TSU Eduard Galazhinsky added that for these purposes the
university is ready to train engineers of a new type – ambitious and capable of
generating new ideas. The press service informs that Galazhinsky and Hartov
have agreed on training engineers who will solve specific problems of the
Central Research Institute of Machine Building and create space trends.
It is noted that TSU scientists already work with TsNIIMash. They have
developed a facility by means of which TsNIIMash conducts experiments aimed at
developing of effective means of protecting satellites and ISS from meteoroid
and space debris attacks.
