TOMSK, Mar 5 – RIA Tomsk. The rector of Tomsk Polytechnic University (TPU) Petr
Chubik and the CEO of Gazpromneft-Vostok Viktor Misnik signed the agreement on
carrying out of research works for the "Paleozoic" project on the
development of hard-to-recover oil reserves in the Tomsk region, the
correspondent of RIA Tomsk reports from the scene.
Earlier it was reported that the Gazprom Neft company became a
participant of the regional cluster on the study of Paleozoic hydrocarbon
deposits in the Tomsk region, this will allow to develop 25 million tons of
recoverable reserves and 1 billion tons of geological reserves of hydrocarbons
in the region.
On Monday, March 5, Chubik and Misnik signed the agreement on carrying
out of research and development work within the framework of the pilot project
"Paleozoic." The main theme of the agreement – is the implementation
of research works on the development of technology for the search for
potentially productive objects in the deposits of the pre-Jurassic complex in
the Tomsk region. The contract is valid until December 31, 2022.
"Tomsk Polytechnic University – is the first university in the
Asian part of Russia, where began the training of professionals, we are the
first who started training of geologists and oil industry workers beyond the
Urals. We have accumulated new competencies in recent years, we have a decent
material base ... "Gazprom Neft" – today is the most important
enterprise in Russia, which deals with difficult oil. This is such a partner
who specializes in it", – Chubik said at the signing ceremony.
"Paleozoic" – is the pilot project on the extraction of
Paleozoic oil in the territory of the Russian Federation. We drilled a few test
boreholes, there is oil-satureted core, but to talk about the industrial
development of the Paleozoic, it is necessary to conduct scientific research
and practical work ... In order to clarify it, we gathered today – to study and
to extract", – Misnik marked in his turn.
The Gazprom Neft company launched a number of projects to develop
hard-to-recover oil reserves in Russia, one of which – is the "Paleozoic"
project in the Tomsk Region. Within the framework of the agreement, Tomsk
polytechnicians will develop technologies which will help to search for
"difficult" oil deposits in the sediments of the pre-Jurassic
complex, study the structure and assess the prospects of oil and gas potential.
Gazpromneft-Vostok – is the subsidiary of
Gazprom Neft.
