Mar 20 – RIA Tomsk. The delegation of the Embassy of
Israel headed by the first secretary Ilay Levi, responsible for economic
cooperation, visited the Tomsk region with a working trip on Tuesday as a
result of which preliminary agreements on cooperation of Tomsk innovators with
"technological greenhouses" of Israel were reached, the correspondent
of RIA Tomsk reports.
The delegation of the Embassy of the State of Israel worked in Tomsk on
March 20. Members of the delegation participated in a meeting of the round
table "Israel – Tomsk: problems of innovative cooperation" and met
the Vice Governor on Economy Andrey Antonov and the leaders of the Center of
Cluster Development of the Tomsk region.
"We would like to expand interaction between Israeli and Tomsk
hi-tech companies. At the moment some companies interact on their own, and we
would like to provide them government support as we see high potential in your
region", – Levi noted following the results of the meeting.
According to Antonov, one of problems of the Tomsk region within the
Scientific and Technological Development Strategy of Russia (STDS) – creation
of "factory of startups" in the region. Such experience is available
for Israel with its system of "innovative technological greenhouses"
(the Israeli business incubators – Ed.).
"We discussed issues of interaction of the Tomsk innovative
companies with "technological greenhouses" in detail which are available
in Israel. Interaction with these "greenhouses" is very important for
entry of the local companies into the international markets to bring
competences of the Tomsk companies to the global markets. Our purpose is to
build continuous interaction with the Israeli innovative ecosystem", –
Antonov told.
The parties agreed about the organization of a trip of representatives
of the Tomsk innovative companies to Israel within the planned autumn visit to
this country of delegation under the chairmanship of the Deputy Prime Minister
Arkady Dvorkovich.
Earlier it was reported that STDS is approved by the Russian President
and is directed to formation of a modern control system in the field of
science, technologies and innovations. The Tomsk and Novosibirsk regions became
pilot regions which will fulfill two different models of its realization.
Within the Tomsk model it is the basic large university or association of
universities and a startup community around them as a basis for innovative
development.
