native of Seversk Valeria Anisimova won a silver award at the European Sambo
Championship in Greece, Athens, and became the first sambo wrestler in the
Tomsk region who receive a medal of this level, the press service of the
Seversk administration (the closed satellite town of Tomsk) said on Monday.
Earlier it was reported that a trainee of the Tomsk regional sports
school of the Olympic reserve, a student of Tomsk State Pedagogical University
Valeria Anisimova took the fifth line of the rating of the International Sambo
Federation for 2017. This result was the best among 85 Russian athletes in the
64 kg weight category.
It is specified that the European Sambo Championship was held in the
Greek city of Athens from 17 to 21 May. It was attended by more than 350
athletes from 29 countries.
"As a part of the Russian national team ... among women
participated and won a silver award the master of sports of Russia of the
international class ... the native of Seversk Valeria Anisimova ... This is
another success in Valeria's sporting career. And for the Tomsk sport this is
the first medal of the European championship in the history of Sambo of Tomsk
region, our region did not have a similar result", – is said in the
message.
It is added that Anisimova in the championship finals lost to the world
leader in her weight category Tatiana Matsko from the Republic of Belarus.
