of the world in the rating QS (Quacquarelli Symonds) proves that the university
chose the correct vector of development, the rector of TSU Eduard Galazhinsky
considers.
Tomsk State and Tomsk Polytechnic universities (TSU and TPU) improved the
positions in the authoritative world ranking of universities QS (Quacquarelli
Symonds) again in 2018: TSU was placed on the 277th line, having entered
top-300 of the best universities of the world and having become the fourth
among universities of the Russian Federation, TPU takes the 373rd place, having
entered TOP-10 among the Russian universities of the rating (the 10th place).
"TSU shown growth in indicators, key for us, – in the academic reputation
and reputation among employers. The appreciation of professional community and
whose for whom we prepare personnel proved once again that the TSU staff chose
the correct vector of development of the university", – Galazhinsky
commented results of the rating.
He added that TSU "confirmed a high position of the exporter of
Russian education abroad – more and more foreign students come to study to the
Siberian university".
Earlier it was reported that TPU and TSU were included into 15 leading
universities of the Russian Federation in 2013 to which additional financing is
allocated for increase in the international competitiveness. By 2020 not less
than five Russian universities have to enter one hundred of the best
universities of the world. TSU got 323 (in 2016 – 377) place in the QS rating
of 2017, and TPU – the 386th place (in the 2016th – 400).
