finswimming, student of TPU Dmitrii Zhurman won a silver medal at a distance of
100 meters in the first day of the competition at the World Finswimming
Championship in Serbia, the director of the Center of Water Sports named after
V. A. Shevelev Evgeny Skorzhenko, who is now in Belgrade, reported RIA Tomsk on
Tuesday.
The World Finswimming Championship in 2018 takes place in the capital Serbia – Belgrade. According to Skorzhenko, the Tomsk region is represented by four
sportsmen: Dmitry Zhurman, Alena Parshina, Elizaveta Borisova and Yulia
Bryndina.
"In the first day of the competition Dmitrii Zhurman became a silver
medalist at a distance of 100 meters – surface fin swimming. There are three
more days of competition ahead. We wish our Tomsk athletes success", – Skorzhenko said.
Earlier it was reported that in 2017 Tomsk hosted the 15th CMAS Finswimming
World Junior Championships. About 300 junior sportsmen from 25 countries
participated in the competitions. In April 2018, the World Underwater
Federation (CMAS) supported the application of the Tomsk region to hold in
Tomsk in 2020 the CMAS Finswimming World Championships 2020.
