international Internet Olympic Channel will broadcast the Finswimming World
Championship, which will be held in Tomsk in 2020, the director of the Center
of Water Sports named after V. A. Shevelev Evgeny Skorzhenko told journalists
on Wednesday.
Earlier it was reported that the World
Underwater Federation (CMAS) supported the application of the Tomsk region to
hold in Tomsk in 2020 the CMAS Finswimming World Championships 2020. It has to
take place from 9 to 15 July. In 2017 Tomsk already hosted the 15th Finswimming
World Junior Championships. About 300 junior athletes from 25 countries
participated in the competitions. The Russian national team took 35 medals.
Skorzhenko specified that in Tomsk in
2020 will take place the 21st Finswimming World Championships. More than 40
world teams are expected to participate. On the eve - in 2019 - Tomsk will host
the 50th championship of finswimmers of the Russian Federation, where swimmers
will compete for the right to get into the national team.
"Already today there are agreements
with the Olympic Channel on the fact that it will broadcast the 21st World
Championship in Tomsk. It means a lot, because this channel - is a special
family of sports, which today include ours. For Tomsk it is for the first
time", - Skorzhenko said at a press conference in the media center of RIA
Tomsk.

He specified that the Olympic Channel -
is a channel of the International Olympic Committee, which is broadcast on the
Internet. According to him, Tomsk citizens intend to begin preparations for the
World Championships-2020 this year with the meeting of the organizing
committee.
"Our work will be directed not only
to meeting guests and sportsmen with dignity, but to ensure a good picture. All
practices of media, volunteers, teams and judges will work to ensure top level
broadcasting. We fight for our viewer", – Skorzhenko told.
