TOMSK, Aug 3 – RIA Tomsk. Presentation of Fashion Lab – fashion and style laboratory of Tomsk State University (TSU), where will be
taught designers, fashion stylists and image consultants, was held at Siberian
Design Center of TSU; graduates will get a diploma or professional development
certificates, is reported on the website of the university on Friday.
It is specified that the new TSU Fashion Lab, on the basis of which courses
and educational programs in the field of fashion design, fashion stylistics and
image consulting will be conducted, will begin its work in October 2018.
"Now there is a shortage of specialists in the industry, we have
already been asked by employers with requests for the selection of
professionals – technologists, designers. In addition we will train specialists
in the currently relevant professions – fashion stylist and image consultant,
who help to assemble the ideal clothes and form an individual style", – the project manager Natalia Kadieva is quoted.

It is noted that Fashion Lab employees presented the main educational
disciplines which will be a part of different courses. In particular, modules
on sketch graphics, design of author collections, stylistics, designing of
clothes. Educational programs are developed jointly by university lecturers and
invited practicing experts.
It is added that the training of designers of clothes will be unique for
Tomsk, as "in the secondary special and higher educational institutions of
our city the "Design of clothes" direction and related specialties
are no longer taught or represented as a part of some courses". Students
will be offered to receive both a second higher education of TSU, and to pass
intensive courses for beginners.
