TOMSK, 24 Sep – RIA Tomsk. Tomsk companies
"Mechatronica-Pro" and "Popkov Robotics" will demonstrate at
the U-NOVUS forum a joint development in the field of artificial vision for
unmanned electric car, which can become a unique product for Russia, is
reported on Monday on the Innovative portal of the Tomsk region.
It is specified that the developers conducted a successful test of a joint
solution - a mobile emulator by "Popkov Robotics" and an electric
drive of the steering rack by "Mechatronica-Pro", working according
to the algorithm of artificial vision. A full demonstration the companies will
held at the U-NOVUS forum. Earlier it was reported that it will be held in
Tomsk on October 11-13 with the participation of the large Russian companies,
universities, scientific organizations.
"A small electric car model will be driving along the layout of the
route, which, with the help of sensors and cameras connected to the vision
algorithm, determines when to turn or stop at the traffic lights. <...>
(To) electric steering rack ... commands will be transmitted from the car
algorithm", – is said in the report.
It is explained that as a result of synchronization with the rotation of the
mini-model, large wheels connected to the intelligent electric drive will also
turn. According to the developers, they plan to make a common product, which
will be unique for Russia.
This project is implemented by the "Artificial Vision" Alliance of
the Smart Technologies cluster, headed by Viktor Shirshin, the Director of
"Elecard" company. Earlier it was reported that the alliance was
participating in the federal contest "Winter City" to develop a
domestic unmanned vehicle capable of moving along a snow-covered road without
visible markings. The prize fund of the contest – is about 100 million rubles.
