TOMSK, Oct 17 – RIA Tomsk. Tomsk State University (TSU) is for the first time included in the lists of the best universities of the world made by the British edition Times Higher Education (THE) on subject domains "Education" and "Social Sciences", having got in top-400 and top-500 of the rankings respectively, follows from materials on the website of originators.
Earlier it was reported that TSU entered group 501-600 in the ranking of leading universities of the world according to THE of 2018, having improved the indicators among other Russian universities. The Tomsk University also showed growth on indicators "international activity", "research activity" and "quality of teaching" which were considered when compiling the overall ranking.

According to THE website, except the general ranking of the universities of the world, the edition annually publishes subject rankings, including Business & Economics, Social Sciences, Education, Law.
As it is reported on the website, TSU is included in two subject lists at once for the first time: the Tomsk university got into group 301-400 in ranking "Education", and into group 401-500 in "Social Sciences".
It follows from materials of the website that six Russian universities were included into subject ranking "Social Sciences", four of which are participants of the 5-100 project (TSU, Higher School of Economics, Ural and Kazan Federal Universities). Two more Russian universities: MSU and Kazan Federal University were included into the ranking "Education", except the Tomsk university.
