TOMSK, Nov 15 – RIA Tomsk. Materials scientists of Tomsk State University (TSU) together with MIC scientific and production enterprise developed system of protection of products surface from titanium nickelide, in particular implants implanted in human body; work received Grand Prix of forum "RosBioTech-2018", press service of university reports.

Earlier it was reported that scientists of the Siberian Physics and Technology Institute (SPTI) of TSU developed a new way of processing of metals for medical implants, which will increase their survival in a human body. They thought up a way of increase in roughness of a surface of walls of a time in porous materials on the basis of titanium nickelide (TiNi) that provides a fast implantation of an implant in a human body.

"Materials scientists of TSU together with the MIC scientific and production enterprise developed a reliable system of protection of a surface of products from titanium nickelide, in particular implants.., scientists found ceramic-metal particles and a hydroxycarbonitride layer for the first time which provide … protection of material against influence of biological liquids", – it is said in the statement.

Thanks to opening of scientists (depending on the purposes) it will be possible to create implants with various level of biocompatibility. Improvement of anticorrosive properties of TiNi alloys will allow materials scientists together with physicians to solve problems of bone plasticity in various fields of surgery successfully, is emphasized in the message.

"The protective layer (on an implant surface) is formed of TiNi in the course of creation of porous alloy without additional coverings and processing of a surface. The researches conducted by us allowed to reveal the mechanism of its formation and to understand how to improve it", – the press service quotes the senior research associate of scientific research institute of medical materials SPTI Yury Yasenchuk.

"Development of TSU scientists received the Grand Prix of a competition of innovative developments and projects in the field of biotechnologies in the "High Technologies and Innovations in Medicine" nomination at the XII International biotechnological forum exhibition "RosBioTech-2018", – the press service of the university adds.
