TOMSK, Dec 5 – RIA Tomsk. Tomsk Polytechnic University (TPU) got right to open VII season of
International engineering Case-in championship on February 26, 2019 as students
of university won final in 2018; participants of championship solve cases on
the subject Digital Transformation in 56 technical colleges of Russia and the
CIS, the press service of TPU reported.
Earlier it was reported that the International
engineering Case-in championship is a federal case championship where students
of the leading technical colleges of the Russian Federation and the CIS solve
the problems based on real production situations. More than 4 thousand students
from 52 universities, including a selection stage in TPU – more than 150 Tomsk
students took part in Case-in on different platforms of the Russian Federation
in total in 2018.
According to the press service, the team of the Tomsk
polytechnics won the final of the championship in 2018, which took place in
Moscow. The platform for opening of Case-in-2019 was defined during the
competition of universities whose teams became winners of the championship in
2018.
"Tomsk Polytechnic University won the right to
open the VII season of Student's league of the International engineering
CASE-IN championship. The ceremonial opening of the championship will take
place in Tomsk on February 26, 2019", – it is said in the statement.

It is noted that the VII season of the league will be
devoted to the subject "Digital Transformation": "Participants …
should embody a subject of digital transformation in solutions of engineering
cases on six branch directions: geological exploration, mining, metallurgy, oil
and gas business, petrochemistry and power industry". The championship
will take place in 56 technical universities of Russia and the CIS.
It is added that except opening of the championship
TPU will organize one of five platforms for League of young specialists of the
CASE-IN championship in the Russian Federation – a competition in the solution
of engineering cases among young specialists aged up to 35 years of companies
and organizations of fuel and energy and mineral and raw complexes. Selection
stage of the geographical zone "North" will take place in TPU.
