RIA Tomsk. Two teams from Tomsk State University of Control Systems and Radioelectronics (TUSUR) and team of Tomsk school students were a
part of Russian delegation in championship RoboCup of Asia Pacific region;
representative of TUSUR Evgeny Shandarov became the cochairman of the
competition, press service of the region administration reported.
Earlier it was reported that
RoboCup is a noncommercial project on advance of artificial intelligence,
robotics and other fields of science and technology by means of robotic
competitions. From 2016 to 2018 TUSUR was a co-organizer of stages of the
RoboCup Russia Open championship, which took place in Tomsk. According to the
staff of the university, carrying out of RoboCup helps development of
educational robotics in the Russian Federation.
According to the press
service, competitions of the RoboCup championship of the Asia Pacific region
began on December 6 and take place at the same time on two platforms: in Dubai
(UAE) and on the Kish Island (Iran). The head of laboratory of robotics and
artificial intelligence of TUSUR Evgeny Shandarov acts as the cochairman of the
competition.
"Tomsk State university
of Control Systems and Radioelectronics (TUSUR) headed the Russian delegation
of participants of the robotic competitions RoboCup Asia-Pacific which part
were nine teams from the different Russian cities and a team from
Kazakhstan", – it is said in the statement.

It is noted that two teams
participate in the competition from the Tomsk university: Hardwire Gen performs
in robotic soccer RoboCupJunior Soccer, the dev/null team — in the league
CoSpace devoted to creation of software for a virtual and real robot. Besides,
one more Tomsk team which part are pupils of the Tomsk physics and technology
lyceum and school "Perspektiva" participates in RoboCupJunior Soccer.
It is added that besides
residents of Tomsk, the Russian delegation included teams from Moscow, St.
Petersburg, Krasnoyarsk and Yekaterinburg and a team from Karaganda
(Kazakhstan).
