student of the Faculty of Physical Education of Tomsk State University (FPE
TSU) Andrey Anisimov will be the only Tomsk snowboarder at the XXIX World
Winter Universiade 2019, the press service of the university reported on
Friday.
Earlier it was reported that
the XXIX World Winter Universiade will be held from March 2 to March 20, 2019
in Krasnoyarsk. More than 3 thousand young athletes from 50 countries will take
part in the games.
"A student of the Faculty
of Physical Education of Tomsk State University (FPE TSU) Andrey Anisimov will
take part in the Universiade, which will be held in Krasnoyarsk in March 2019.
Andrey - is a member of the core lineup of the Russian team, participant and
winner of the World Junior and "adult" Championships - World and
Russian Championships, World Cups, Cups of Europe, Russia", – is said in
the statement.
It is noted that participation
in the Universiade will take all the students of the Russian national team.
“Besides Andrey, there are no more snowboarders in the Tomsk region", – emphasizes the TSU press service.
According to the press
service, Anisimov began to do winter sports professionally from the age of
nine. "I began to win prizes at regional and then at the all-Russian
competitions - including the Russian championship. So after three years I was
noticed and accepted into the junior national team of the country", – his
words are quoted in the message.
It is specified that the
athlete will prepare for competitions at the training camp in Krasnoyarsk, on
the Universiade track.
"Another participant of
the Universiade will be FPE student Elizaveta Moiseenko – master of sports in
the discipline "Orienteering", – is added in the message.
