Photography of Tomsk State University (TSU) will hold in January the
all-Russian exhibition of works of the best young photographers – the leaders
of the PHD photography and design competition, the director of the center Irina
Korneva reported RIA Tomsk.
The PHD photography and design festival, organized by the TSU Higher School
of Journalism, was held in Tomsk at the end of 2018. About 1.5 thousand young
photographers from all over Russia submitted applications for participation in
the competition program. The grand prize of the competition was received by a
29-year-old photographer from Moscow, Stanislava Novgorodtseva. Her photo
stories and reportages were published in such editions as "Russian
Reporter", "TakieDela", The Village, and others.
"The exhibition will open on January 25 in the public space
"Endorphin" (Lenin Avenue, 95). These will be the works of
participants and winners of the PHD contest - young photographers under 30
years old. The exhibition shows the real life, and not something that is posted
out in Instagram, where everyone shows their best side, often imagined", – Korneva said.
According to her, at the photo exhibition Tomsk citizens will see some works
of the PHD contestants, as well as a full series of photos of the Grand Prix
winner and the contest leaders. In particular, a series of Novgorodtseva photos
called "Lord of the Seas" and is dedicated to downshifting.
