"Experts from Russia and China made a decision to accredit the educational program of a bachelor degree of Higher School of Journalism (TSU) "Journalism and New Media" for the maximum possible period – 6 years. It is noted that the decision on accreditation was made by the National Accreditation Council in Yoshkar-Ola and the Higher Education Evaluation Center of the Ministry of Education. The commission visited TSU in 2018, assessing how the program meets the requirements of the professional community in China and Russia.
"The bachelor's program "Journalism and New Media" exists only for the first year. International accreditation confirmed that we "hit the mark" – we created a popular demanded program of new generation. Accreditation will allow us to increase the number of foreign students who decided to study journalism, photography, design and film in Tomsk", – the acting dean of the TSU Faculty of Journalism Ilya Myasnikov is quoted in the message.
It is added that, in addition to "Journalism and New Media" five more educational programs of TSU have international accreditation: "International Relations", "Finance and Credit", "Psychology", "Philosophy", "Management". The development of an external independent assessment system is aimed at improving the quality of education and competitiveness of TSU educational programs with taking into account the interests and needs of students and employers.
