TOMSK, May 6 – RIA Tomsk. At once four Tomsk universities entered the hundred of Russian
universities invited to participate in the educational intensive courses at the
Skolkovo Institute of Science and Technology (Skoltech). On the objectives of
the trip representatives of these universities told reporters on Monday. In
more detail – in the material of RIA Tomsk.
The educational intensive courses "Island
10-22" is organized with the support of the Ministry of Education and
Science. In 2019, it will be held in Skoltech (Moscow) from July 10-22.
intensive course aims at the creation and development of teams of regional
universities that can implement systemic changes in the field of training for
technological development.
Tomsk – is on the third place in the number of
participating universities after Moscow and St. Petersburg. Out of 180
applicants, Tomsk State University (TSU), Tomsk Polytechnic University (TPU),
Tomsk State University of Control Systems and Radio Electronics (TUSUR), Tomsk
State University of Architecture and Building (TSUAB) are in the hundred of
participants.
For the first time an educational intensive course
"Island" was held in the summer of 2018 on Russky Island. Here,
fundamentally new approaches and practices of intensive learning were developed
using artificial intelligence technologies, collecting a digital trace, and
shaping individual development trajectories.
TSU
“The goal of the intensive course – is to prepare
teams for the transformation of regional economies for the formation of a new
economic framework for Russia related to the orientation on new technologies.
In this sense, Tomsk universities have reserves”, – the rector of Tomsk State
University (TSU) Eduard Galazhinsky told at a press conference in the RIA Tomsk
media center.
According to him, 12 people from TSU will go to
"Island" to study, 10 people will teach and present the university’s
reserves related to the training of IT personnel.
"TSU developed a technology for scaling intensive
training of IT specialists – this is the Higher IT School created a few years
ago. Also, we will introduce "Virtual University" – augmented reality
technology developed with Rubius, which every teacher can use in the
educational process", – the rector added.
Formation of competences in the field of
IT-technologies and development of new teaching tools related to digitalization
are priorities for the university, the rector emphasized.

“Digitalization – is a transition to new models that
allow to use what was not there before. Tomsk in this sense is quite advanced.
We have something to show our colleagues – these are innovative flagship
projects which will be of interest to all of Russia”, – Galazhinsky said.
TSUAB
"We will also work as a team on the intensive
course – there are 12 people, mostly young people, who have passed a personnel
reserve, who are absolutely versed in modern technologies, time challenges and
are able to set tasks that will determine the development of both the university
and the industry for the next 10 years", – the rector of TSUAB Viktor
Vlasov told journalists.

According to him, the maximum task of the team – is to
get competencies to create projects in the system of personnel training and the
development of the innovation environment for the modern digital economy of
Russia, but precisely in relation to the profile direction of TSUAB.
"This is architecture and construction. I must
say that we want to get a whole new format of interaction with industry,
including small, – the creation of small innovative enterprises and technology
parks, centers for collective use. We hope the experts will help to transform
our knowledge into construction branch", – the rector added.
TUSUR
"In TUSUR, there has always been an entrepreneurial
atmosphere which promotes students to create their own IT business. This effect
cannot be used. Therefore, group project training has been created on the basis
of TUSUR, which provides a link between science, education, and industrial
partner. We are ready to offer it on the intensive", – the vice rector of
TUSUR Victor Rulevskiy told.

He added that the educational technology system allows
to solve unique tasks in the shortest possible time: “For example, 50 companies
have been trained only in recent years. All this is happening in digital
format, on digital platforms. The TUSUR team for the "Island"
intensive courses, which is formed from personnel reserve and leading
university specialists, will present this project".
TPU
“To make a digital revolution, it is necessary to
prepare revolutionaries. They are engineers with good digital competencies and
IT specialists. Based on this situation, we restructured our educational
activities: we have new computer science, digital practices and electives, and so
on”, – the acting rector of TPU Petr Chubik told.
In his opinion, the intensive course will give new
impulses for joint work of universities: “In order to make everything work
perfectly and prepare the engineers of the future for the digital economy, we
absolutely need to work together. What TSU is doing today, – is adaptive
mathematics using artificial intelligence – this is the peak. It would be great
if TPU students could take math training at TSU".
He also added that in Tomsk TUSUR has the largest competencies
in IT disciplines. "Polytechnicians could pass ф part of the disciplines in TUSUR. Thus, we are talking about the need
for close collaboration not only in the research field, but also in the
training of personnel for the economy of the future", – Chubik summarized.
